Fitzroy Yachts expertise sought after by significant European buyer for 50 metere Flybridge
June 2010
Fitzroy Yachts reputation for excellence and ease of doing business, has attracted a key European client and sealed a major new yacht build for the New Zealand-based yacht maker.
Fitzroy Yachts start work this month on Project G50, a 50-metre Flybridge Sloop, that will be ready for delivery in 2012.
The G50’s European owner approached Fitzroy directly to build his latest sailing yacht.
“It’s especially pleasing to have the client dealing with us exclusively and recognising our reputation for the care and quality we put into our relationships and of course our yachts.” said Rodney Martin, Fitzroy Yachts Managing Director.
“We compete with companies often located close to the customer, so it’s credit to our New Zealand team that we’re known for being good to deal with and securing this deal when new-builds are scarce,” he added.
Fitzroy Yachts commissioned Dubois Naval Architects to design G50, with interior design and styling by the owner. Fitzroy have collaborated with Dubois on many of their boats including the international award-nominated 45m Salperton IV, and the about to be launched 50metre Zefira.
“We’re proud of each of the superyachts we have built over the past 13 years. G50 will be another step as we add even more innovative features and make our client’s dream sailing yacht a reality.”
Martin is currently in discussions about other new yacht builds. The New Zealand based team will be showcasing Fitzroy during the year at all the major superyacht Regattas and at the Monaco Boat Show, in September, their 2009 launch, SalpertonIV, will be on show. |
