We started building our first yacht, the 24.7 metre Spirit of Fitzroy in 1997.
We have continued with an impressive range of high specification vessels, seven of them superyachts over 30 metres, the largest being the magnificent Zefira at 49.7 metres.
Our superyachts have been recognised internationally. Salperton III (now Artemis) was the winner in it’s class at both the 2008 World Superyacht Awards and the Showboats International Awards. Inmocean was a finalist in 2009, Salperton IV won Best Exterior Design & Styling at the 2010 Showboats Design Awards and most recently Zefira was named Sailing Yacht of the Year at the 2011 World Superyacht Awards.
We take some pride in that.
We do all this from New Plymouth, New Zealand. It may be the last place you would expect a world-class superyacht to come from. Then again, dare we say, maybe it should be the first.
Never say... It can’t be done. It can be done.
We believe there is nothing that can’t be done.
If someone can design it, we will make it work.
It’s a slightly old-fashioned belief but it’s one we stand by.
Precisely. Perfectly.
There are a myriad of items and trades that go into the making of any yacht, let alone one with the qualities of a superyacht.
We do all the work in our own yard with our own team, from the detailed design, fabrication, mechanical and systems installation, joinery and painting to electrical and electronics. The hull, the interior, the decking and deck hardware and the stainless work. We do all of these ourselves which means that we take responsibility.
We produce to specification, to time, and above all, to quality. Precisely. Perfectly.
WE MAKE THE BOAT WORK.
We carry out all of the detailed design work in-house.
The question of ‘Can it be done?’ never arises. Rather the question our designers
pose themselves is how can it be done in the most innovative way – a way that nobody
has thought of before.
They surprise even us.
It’s not only what you see. It’s also what you don’t see.
Our people are highly skilled craftsmen and they take considerable pride doing what they
do, well.
For them there is no detail that is so unimportant that it can be ignored or brushed over
or hidden from sight.
Good enough is not good enough.
The expression of the individual.
There is a pride of ownership when you have a superyacht. Well designed and
well constructed, they are a beautiful and elegant craft.
The yacht will say as much about its owner as any finely designed home.
So we will put everything we can into making them the very best in the world.
No equivocation, no caveats. If it has our name on it, we will make it the best.
We wouldn’t do it any other way. |
